The Birth of the Elephant
Ink. is an urban lifestyle brand that was started in Cape Coral,
Florida circa 2008. The brainchild of Rodrigo Leon (21) and Josh Noom
(23), the brand blends the creators’ love for street culture with a
simplistic logo and dope designs.
Why Elephant Ink.?
Elephant Ink. has a presence that can't be ignored even if we pretend—the elephant ink the room.
“We picked the Elephant because it represents different things to different people. Some people think of an elephant as a good luck charm and some people think of at it as a metaphor for standing out. There are so many ways to interpret the Elephant’s symbolism, and that’s what it means ultimately: no stereotypes. I don’t aim at a particular market. And the INK. comes from me wanting to make fun of companies that have INC. at the end of their name.”
Why Start a Brand?
When Rodrigo and Josh started the brand, Josh focused more on the design side of things while Rod created the vision for how the brand could take off in SW Florida. Inspired by his passion for the fashion culture, wanting to be his own boss, and ambitions he got from his father Rod kept the brand going, while Josh went on to do his own thing.
minimal Elephant design is such a hit that not only do fans of the
brand rep the brand on their cars but other brands even started trying
to steal the logo for themselves. After years of establishing the
brand's name and vision, Elephant Ink. Is now a recognized movement in
Southwest Florida and beyond.
